Treating Severe Eczema on Children
Are you troubled by the appearance of red spots on your child’s skin? You want to help your child, but are afraid to use the conventional treatments available in the market? Well, if that is the case, then you will find the natural treatment for eczema in children here listed very useful. Using a wet towel or blanket and wrapping it onto the affected areas on your child’s skin does a wonderful job of calming the itchy feeling experienced by your child and re-hydrating their skin as well. Wet wraps will calm their inflamed and swelling skin which will strengthen their skin, reduce the itchiness and diminish the chances of further infection. This is also very easy to do, here is how do it.
First, you start off by bathing your child with lukewarm water mixed with baking soda and then properly moisturizing their skin with essential oils or even simple baby oil. Soak a bandage in warm water and place it over the infected area. Next, take a dry bandage and wrap it over the wet bandage. This will keep the wet bandage in place and seal in the moisture in your child’s skin. You can leave the wet wrap in place for a couple of hours or even over the night if you want. The idea here is to let the ingredients of the moisturizer go deep within your child’s skin. This will also limit the chances of your child scratching the eczema while he or she sleeps, so you take away the possibility of further infection. This approach can be utilized in almost anywhere in the body, you can also use this to treat eczema on the eyelid.
As a bonus tip, never give your child a hot bath, especially if there are flare ups and breakouts under way. Hot water will only worsen the condition since hot water will dry out your child’s skin and will also release histamines in the process. Both are considered causes of eczema.
